Help shape the future workforce

As a mentor, you’ll play a vital role in bringing real-world experience into the classroom. Our programme connects professionals like you with S5 and S6 students, helping them build essential skills and discover future career paths.

Engaging with 125 schools across Scotland in 2025/26, you’ll have the opportunity to support a school in your area, or even return to your former one.

You’ll receive online training before being paired with a school in your chosen region.

HOW IT WORKS

A mentor will:

  • Support S5 & S6 pupils taking part in our Powering Futures SCQF Level 6 qualification.

  • Help them build critical meta-skills such as teamwork, problem solving, and communication.

  • Share career experience to inspire the next generation.

  • Gain insight into Scotland’s future talent pipeline.

  • Attend at least three classroom sessions between September and March (approximately two hours each, including travel time).
