Classroom activities

Explore your career interests

There are three activities. You'll explore what interests you, what doesn't, and how different skills can work together.

01
Activity 1

A career you would want

Go to the corner that represents a type of career you would want to do. Discuss these questions with your group.

  • Why does this area fit you? Think about your interests, strengths and favourite subjects.
  • What kinds of tasks or projects would you enjoy most?
  • What would be your ideal job?
02
Activity 2

A career you wouldn't want

Now move to the corner that represents a type of career you wouldn't want to do.

This type of work isn't for you, but who do you know that might love this type of job, and why?

03
Activity 3

Start a business together

Form a team of 3–4 people from different corners of the room. Imagine you're starting a brand-new business together.

  • Come up with a business idea. What will you do or make?
  • Decide who does what, based on each person's interests and strengths.
  • Create a name for your business.
  • Share with the class what your business does and everyone's role.
Activity 3 worksheet

Build your business

Work together to develop your idea and decide how everyone's different interests can contribute.
