Why did Prestwick Aerosytems want to sponsor Ayr racecourse for Powering Futures Live and what impact it will have?

For us, this is about investing back into the Ayrshire community that supports our people and our industry. With 90 years of aerospace heritage in the Prestwick area, we see PF Live as a chance to connect that legacy with the next generation. The event gives us an opportunity to make engineering and manufacturing feel real and accessible, and through the Powering Futures programme - particularly the 11th March showcase - we’re able to engage directly with students who have been working on real industry challenges and developing practical skills. It’s about showing that high-value careers exist locally and that world-class aerospace continues to have a future here in Ayrshire.

Why does Prestwick Aerosytems want to support young people as they move into the next stage of their careers?

Our story has always been built around development - apprenticeships, progression and clear pathways into skilled careers. Many of our leaders have come through those routes themselves, so supporting young people as they move into the next stage of their careers is something we genuinely believe in. Programmes like Powering Futures help build confidence, teamwork and problem-solving through real-world learning while strengthening the future pipeline of aerospace talent in Scotland.
